Paws & Pints: Exploring Northumberland's Best Dog-Friendly Pubs

Border View and The Orchard cottage are both dog friendly and we encourage you to bring them to enjoy the countryside. Please find below some of our favourite local dog friendly pubs.

  • Black Bull – Etal Village

Dogs are welcome at the bar area and outside. It’s worth ringing ahead to book a spot. This pub can be reached by walking along the river direct from Tiptoe. Follow the public footpath for just over 3 miles and it will take you directly into Etal Village

Dogs are welcome and both the bar area and large outside covered decking.

The bar area is dog friendly. We advise to book ahead, if you book online make sure to add a note that you have a dog, and they will allocate you a table in the bar area.

  • The Cross Inn – Paxton (12 miles, 20 mins drive)

Dogs are welcome in the bar area and outside seating. Great food & atmosphere, worth booking ahead as it’s a popular spot.

  • The Ship Inn – Low Newton (Low Newton: 32 miles, 50 mins drive)

This pub sits just back from Low Newton-by-the-sea beach. The beach is dog friendly all year round with no restrictions. The pub is dog friendly however this is a small pub so please keep your dog on a lead and under the table.
