The Atlantic Salmon Trust are supporting the future of our wild Salmon for generations to come. There has been a 70% decline in Wild Salmon numbers in the last 25 years, the Wild Atlantic Salmon could become endangered in 10 years’ time.
The trust uses scientific research to understand the decline and puts evidence-based solutions in place to create a better future.
Current Projects:
The Moray Firth Tracking Project
Started in 2019 the project tags Salmon Smolt and follow them on their river journey, discovering issues along the way and collecting data. This data can then be used to inform river managers and policy makers
The West Coast Tracking Project
Project started to understand the migratory habits of Salmon. Tracking smolts swimming behaviour and see what happens when travelling around our coasts. Gathering information to look after them and understand the dangers that affect them.
At Till Fishing we have chosen to support the Atlantic Salmon Trust in 2022 and look to help further in the future.
