Delighted that Richard Pratt, who visited for the day on Monday 7th May had some success.
He lost 2 and then caught 2! The first in the Top Stream weighing 1 1/2 lbs and the second weighing 2 lbs in the Tiptoe Throat pool.
Mike smith caught a 1 1/2 lb sea trout in the beach pool.
Mr Elvidge a nice brown trout in the Old Egypt Pool on 17th May.
On 17th May Ed Seymour, who visited for the day had some great success! This is his tale
“The river was high and coloured and I guess rising, there was a lot of rain falling and although the little burns were not running coloured they were running hard down the hill. It was really a case of finding where the fish were, so I decided to fish up to the top beat and lost a good sea trout on the fly after a decent fight, the next cast was bumped heavily so I knew there were numbers of fish there. This is where my stomach took over, knowing that the sea trout were there and in taking mood I picked up the spinning rod and put on a small mepps with a copper coloured blade, the first two casts were bumped and the third resulted in a four and half pound sea trout which did all the things you expect, lots of time spent jumping out of the water. A perfect meal ! Stomach still in control the next few cast were bumped and then a really fresh two and half pounder grabbed the mepps. A perfect brace.
I was at this time wetter than the fish, the rain was lashing down and I was thinking that a change of clothes and a cup of tea would be a good idea so I called it a day.”
